CUPBOARD LOVE : Japanese Style Flat Cabbage

I saw this cabbage in Tesco the other day and thought it looked quite interesting.
It's hard to see from the image above, but imagine a large cabbage that has been squashed flatter than the regular round shape.

The cabbage is very sweet and refreshing.
When you take the leaves off, they are wide and flat like bowls-perfect for serving salads or other dishes inside.

Or filled, rolled and wrapped into a delicious salad wrap...

When blanched and softened, they can be used to wrap hot mixtures such as spicy ground beef, rolled up and baked in the oven.
I'll post any new developments, so watch this space!
